How To Install Sony Flashtool Manual Drivers - Easiest Steps

In this post xperiedge will show you how to install manual driver to flash xperia devices.
As we know, flashtool doesn't deserve drivers for 2016 or later Xperia devices such Xperia XZ, Xperia X Performance, Xperia X Compact, etc. The latest xperia driver we found is for Xperia Z5 Premium. So, this guide will solve your problem for installing xperia driver that not listed or deserve by flashtool.

In this guide we will show you manual driver installation on windows 7 operating system. if you want to install it on windows 8 or windows 10, you need to disable driver signature enforcement. we will show you also about this below.

Pre-quisites to Install Sony Flashtool Manual Drivers

1. Make sure you have a PC :D
2. Make sure Flashtool installed correctly on your PC. Check my previous post Easy Steps, How To Install Sony Xperia Flashtool on Windows 7, Windows 8, WIndows 10, and Linux
3. Download Manual Drivers for flashtool on our previous post
4. After Driver downloaded, Extract it into a folder

Guide to Install Sony Flashtool Manual Drivers

1.  Open device manager. Then, right click on "your pc name". Select "Add Legacy Hardware"

2. Some pop up will showed just click next and next until different pop up showed. On that different pop up select “install the hardware that I manually select from a list (advanced)”. Check picture below for sure.

3. Pop up will showed again, click next. Then, select "have a disk". Then, locate the folder that Manual driver extracted. Click "ok"

4. Click on the selected driver then click next. pop up will showed again just click next. Driver installation will be started just wait for a second. in the installation process verification pop up will showed just select "install anyway"

5. Until here, we have succeed to install xperia manual driver.

Sony Flashtool Manual Driver Installation Guide for Windows 10 and Windows 8 - How to Disable Driver Signature Enforcement

1. Open windows recovery. Just search "recovery" on windows search bar to found it.

2. Startup menu will showed. Select roubleshoot> advance option>startup setting.

3. then select “disable driver signature enforcement” or just click 7 or F7

4. Your PC will reboot automatically. 

5. Now, you can install driver on your windows 10 or windows 8 PC. For Manual Driver installation guide, same like windows 7 above.

Easy Steps, How To Install Sony Xperia Flashtool on Windows 7, Windows 8, WIndows 10, and Linux

In this post we're gonna show you how to install sony flashtool on your windows and Linux operating system.

Sony Xperia flashtool is a tool to flash and modify all xperia devices. Flashing is an effort to fix software issues on your phone such bootloop, system crash, some features doesn't work, etc. Flashing also an effort to upgrade, downgrade, and reinstall an operating sytem on a android devices.

Let's get started

Pre-quisites To Install Sony Xperia Flashtool on Windows PC

1. Of Course you need a PC. You can use Windows and Linux Operating System 32 bit or 64 bit. If you use windows 8 and windows 10 you will need to disable signature enforcement to install drivers. I'll give a guide for it below.

2. Download flashtool below.

• Flashtool v.0.9.18 (Recommended for flashing all old xperia devices and also recommended for flashing Jellybean, Kitkat, and Lollipop firmwares
• Flashtool v.0.9.22 (Recommended for flashing all xperia's firmware except nougat and oreo firwmares)
• Flashtool v.0.9.23 (minimum flashtool for flashing nougat firmwares and this version also recommended for flashing Japan Version Xperia Docomo, AU, and Softbank )
• Flashtool v.0.9.25 (minimum flashtool for flashing oreo firmware)

3. Download xperia manual driver. You only need this driver for Xperia that launched on 2016 or later such as Xperia X series , Xperia L series, etc.

Steps How To Install Sony Xperia Flashtool on Windows 7 

1. Extract flashtool files in a folder. Open extracted folder and double click on flashtool setup files. Just install flashtool like install software commonly.

2.  After flashtool installed, open C:/flashtool/drivers then  double click on Flashtool Drivers files to launch driver installation setup.

3. Select some driver which you want to install. Fastboot and flashmode drivers must be selected. You also can install all drivers. But, it will take a time.

4. If pop up window showed (check pic) just choose "install" and "install this driver anyway". Time for installation will take a time. The more driver you install the more time will be taken.

Now, you can flash or modify your xperia phone using flashtool. But, there is some issues for windows 8 and windows 10 that drivers cannot be installed on it. So, for windows 8 and windows 10 you need to disable signature enforcement to install xperia's drivers like we said above.

Steps How To Install Sony Xperia Flashtool on Windows 8 and 10.

1. Open windows recovery settings. you can search it on windows search bar or you can restart your PC then click shift repeatedly. 

2. If Start menu option showed select troubleshoot/advance option/startup setting

3. Then select "disable driver signature enforcement" you also can click "7" or "F7" to choose it.

4. Your PC will reboot automatically. Now, you can install flashtool like windows 7 guide above.

Steps How To Install Sony Flashtool on Linux PC (Ubuntu, etc)

1. Download flashtool in http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php make sure you download tar.7z format.

2. After flashtool downloaded, extract it using your extractor software

3. Move flashtool folder to home directory

4. Open terminal en enter command below.

sudo cp /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-
net.rules /etc/udev/rules.d/80-persistent-
usb.rules

Click enter. then enter command below again

sudo gedit /etc/udev/rules.d/80-persistent-usb.rules

 5. The script will be opened. put script below most under the script.

SUBSYSTEM==“usb”,ACTION==“add”,
SYSFS{idVendor}==“0fce”,
SYSFS{idProduct}==“*”,MODE="0777”

Then, save the file.

6. Then install ia-32libs via terminal. enter comman below to install

sudo apt-get install ia32-libs

7. Untill here, flashtool installed correctly. To open flashtool. open terminal and you need to enter the command

sudo su

cd FlashTool

./FlashTool

Flashtool will open and now you can flash any xperia devices on your lovely linux PC.
